Letter: ‘No Kings Day’ rally planned for Flag Day

Editor,

On June 14th, Flag Day, activists are facilitating NO King Rally events nationwide. Here, the Whidbey community will be rallying at the intersection of Highway 20 and Main Street in Coupeville from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Exercising our right to a peaceful demonstration, we will be speaking out as a free people. We will celebrate our American flag and give a serious reminder that the primary role of a president of the United States is in his oath to our country: to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of our United States.

The highest office in our country needs checks and balances in our three branches of government. No one branch of government can have absolute power or rule.

Thus, the focus: No King! All are welcome to stand together, bring an American flag to display and send a message loud and clear that the U.S. Constitution needs to be preserved, protected, and defended.
