James L. Pugh (Jim) of Langley, Washington, passed away on May 24th, 2025. Paula, his wife of 57 years, and daughters, Melissa Arndt (née Pugh) and Katie Pugh, were with him as he made a peaceful transition.

Jim was born on June 5, 1945. He grew up in Wayzata, Minnesota, and attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. After serving in the Navy in Vietnam, he and Paula settled on Whidbey Island in 1972. Jim was an avid boater and builder and supported many in the community with his helping hand. He had a long decline with dementia.

He attended Langley United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir for more than 40 years. He loved his 3 granddaughters: James Lois Pugh-Hansen, Maya Arndt and Isa Arndt.

The family will have a small memorial at a future date.
